The community quarantine wrought by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has affected so many events. These events had to be canceled at the last minute because the gathering of people is prohibited. But even with this cancellation, the same could not be done for a birthday celebration. As they say, birthday celebrations only come once a year. This girl, however, had a surprise from dogs during her 5th birthday celebration.
Elizabeth Guthrie had to celebrate her fifth birthday during the COVID-19 quarantine. But it did not come as a problem because her parents had the most special surprise for the young girl. Mary and Mike Guthrie are familiar that their daughter loves dogs. So, they planned a birthday celebration that includes cute creatures.
However, Elizabeth’s parents made sure that the dogs observe proper physical distancing. This is in keeping with the protocols set by the government to prevent the spread of the disease. Elizabeth’s parents know that the girl is sad to celebrate her third birthday inside the house, so they thought of making it extra special.
According to Elizabeth’s parents, the young girl would often go to their neighbors’ houses to play with dogs. So, they thought of using the dogs to make the young girl’s birthday even more memorable. Both Mary and Mike tapped the help of their neighbors. Good thing, their neighbors are generous enough to lend their dogs for the surprise.
The parents planned a dog parade for the birthday. During the parade, each of the dogs had a present for Elizabeth. The dog’ owners also read letters for the young girl. It was a simple celebration, but the happiness in Elizabeth’s eyes is immeasurable. According to her parents, this is one of the most unforgettable birthday celebrations they had for their daughter.
