Going out and enjoying a pint of your local craft beer is one of the most popular ways of spending time with friends lately. With so many options of ciders and craft beer out there, taphouses have also been coming back in popularity in a big way. One man from Oregon was not only able to tap into this market but also include another thing that the general public seems to love – spending time with dogs. The Taphouse In Portland Has Adoptable Dogs You Can Play With
Doggie tap house
Scott Porter came up with the idea of opening up Fido’s Tap House when he went to a cat cafe with his family and saw that the patrons weren’t playing with any of them. His son mentioned that it would be much more fun if there were dogs there instead. So, he decided to start up a business that combined two things he loved the most – craft beer and dogs.
He also decided that the doggies that would be staying in the tap house should be rescue dogs so that the customers could adopt the dogs and bring them home. Because of this, Scott partnered up with Oregon Friends of Shelter Animals, who have been providing the taphouse with dogs from kill shelters from California. It is not only a place where you can have some great food and drinks with friends and family but also someplace where families can grow. Check out more about Fido’s Tap House here:
Drink some beer, save a dog
This establishment is the first of its kind and has already found homes for over seventy shelter dogs since they opened. Scott hopes that the doggies who have been adopted give the families the same love that he has felt from his own pooches.
Places like Fido’s Tap House is a great way to engage the community and help them get to know some of the doggies who are looking for their forever homes. Check out more about Fido’s Tap House here:
