Joe and Marla were walking around in the neighborhood when they noticed a big, hungry-looking dog poking its head out from the bushes. Joe and his wife decided to approach the pup.
The stray dog, Scooby, immediately started barking as soon as the couple tried to approach him. Joe knew that it would take a while before they earn Scooby’s trust, so he decided to bring him food every day instead.
Joe recalled trying to feed Scooby from his hand, and the dog hesitantly came up to him to get the snack on his palms. Scooby quickly backed off as soon as he managed to get the treat from Joe.
Joe kept trying to catch Scooby, but the dog was just so afraid that he would always run away and disappear at the mere sight of them. Joe believes that Scooby was an abused pup, which explains his aloofness towards humans.
Marla admitted how worried she was when winter came because she was not sure how Scooby was doing. Marla kept on calling out for Scooby’s name outside, but the dog did not show up.
Marla and Joe became worried because they have not seen Scooby the entire spring. The couple tried calling out for Scooby’s name when summertime came, and they felt so relieved as soon as they saw him running towards them.
Joe eventually noticed that Scooby started getting a little bit closer to them and no longer keeping his distance. The couple saw Scooby becoming friendlier and even walked alongside them to and from the house as the days passed.
Joe and Marla introduced their dog, Samson, to Scooby and the two pups instantly became friends. The couple was surprised when they saw Scooby coming inside the house, and they knew right away that he is indeed meant to be a part of their family.
