Zach Snow was a partner of Marley’s Mutts, a rescue shelter. He loved fostering rescued dogs and giving them second chances at a new life. When he heard about Henry, the sixteen-year-old dog with cancer, and how his owners gave him away, he knew he had to help.
Henry didn’t like walking since he was completely deaf, had trouble breathing, and he couldn’t see out of one eye. Ultimately, he was confused every time he had to walk.
The dog also had testicular cancer which caused multiple cancerous growths all over his body. Zach suspected that Henry’s old owner didn’t have the means to take care of him so they gave Henry away.
Zach took Henry home and the pup immediately laid down on one corner of the room and fell asleep. Luckily, the next day, Henry felt much better. He had a good appetite and had a little more energy.
Journey to recovery
Zach wanted Henry to feel comfortable so he took Henry to the vet to have his testicular cancer removed. Fortunately, the surgery was quick and Henry immediately felt better afterward.
After a few days, Zach was shocked when Henry began running around his yard and playing with other dogs. He took a video of Henry and posted it online. It wasn’t Zach’s Intention to put Henry in the spotlight for adoption, but dozens of people applied.
Although Zach loved Henry like his own, he knew that a loving family was waiting for him. All Zach wanted was for Henry to live the life he deserved before he got too weak.
Soon, Zach was able to pick the perfect family for Henry. They knew of Henry’s past and were determined to make Henry’s last years worthwhile.
