Dogs have been providing humans with different kinds of help ever since. They can help people from simple household chores to complex ones such as going with rescue operations. No matter what battlefield it is, dogs can be of great help. We’re sure you have your own story of your dog being helpful in many ways.
How did the dog help the operation?
In 2019, an unnamed military dog from the US hit the internet because of his essential participation in a crucial operation. US President Donald Trump gave the dog an online recognition for helping the military officials on taking down Al-Baghdadi. Al-Baghdadi is a leader of a terrorist group in Syria.
The US forces found the terrorist leader in Syria, where he entered a tunnel together with three children with explosives in his body. The dog chased and followed Al-Baghdadi in the tunnel. However, the terrorist leader who activated the bomb in his vest ended up killing himself and the three children. The unnamed dog had minor injuries during the raid.
What are military dogs?
There are various service dogs, and their responsibilities differ in what they can do. One of these service dogs is a military dog who received formal training before going into the battlefield. Formal training includes exposing them to different distractions such as traffic and gunfire to increase their alertness. Military dogs are assets of any country when it comes to crucial operations such as terrorism.
