Dogs are the sweetest creatures on earth. But sometimes, they can be mischievous too. For today’s story, one dog went too far with his shenanigans that it caused a lot of chaos and fear at first.
Pet parent Gemma McAdam and her girlfriend decided to go on a night out together and left their Springer Spaniel named Pogo at home. When the couple returned, they were shocked to see their pet with red splotches all over his body.
Thinking that Pogo was bleeding, Gemma frantically searched for sharp objects around the house. Meanwhile, his girlfriend did a careful search on Pogo to check on his injuries. He already suffered an injury in the past, so they were more vigilant this time.
Eventually, they realized that Pogo wasn’t hurt, and the red substance that covered his body wasn’t blood after all. Still, they looked everywhere to find out what the mystery substance was. Finally, they found the answer inside his crate. It turns out that Pogo found a red hair dye and stole it! Eventually, their worries turned to laughter.
To be sure, Gemma and her girlfriend consulted a veterinarian whether the red dye is safe, and they confirmed that it wasn’t toxic to Pogo. Now that their worries are over, they were left with one more problem – taking out the red dye.
It turns out that the red hair dye was tough to remove. At first, Gemma tried scrubbing him thoroughly during his bath, but the color won’t come off. Finally, they consulted with a Springer Spaniel Facebook group, where a commenter suggested that seawater would help remove the dye, and this only meant one thing – Pogo gets to go to the beach!
The lucky dog doesn’t get punished for what he did. He now gets rewarded for his mischief! After weeks of beach visits, the red dye only came off after about three months. What can we say? Pogo is one lucky dog! On the bright side, he is safe and happy!
