Bailey Clement picked up Charlie Brown at the shelter to foster him during the quarantine. Charlie Brown, the chocolate labrador, was rescued from a puppy mill where he lived his whole life. She and her family decided to take care of him until he found his fur-ever family.
Bailey recalled that when she and her family first picked Charlie up, he wouldn’t even wag his tail. Bailey shared that Charlie was a shy, but very gentle dog.
She was excited to see the change in Charlie over the next few weeks of fostering their new furry friend. Bailey recalled, that he was unsure, and scared of everything at his foster home.
He Laid Down Like A Pancake:
The dog always laid on the ground like a pancake whenever he went out for a walk because he was afraid. But, with the passing of time, Charlie became braver every day. When they were outside, he wanted to just lay on the grass.
Bailey’s mom shared that her daughter’s foster dog, Belle, wanted Charlie to play with her. However, the dog never knew how to play because no one had ever played with him before.
Bailey’s mother said that after seventeen days, they decided to go out and sit and their front porch. She admitted how surprised she was to see Charlie trotting out to find them, and even ate ice cream with them.
After three weeks, Charlie finally decided to play with a toy. He slowly managed to come out of his shell and became more sociable.
Charlie Became A Different Dog:
Charlie became a different dog after having him for over four weeks, Baily said. The dog loves going out for walks and playing with Belle. The Clement family ended up adopting Charlie for good because they could not imagine him living with someone else.
