As the pandemic started to worsen globally, many businesses had to invent new ways to continue operating. But with the limited resources and workforce, everything became so difficult, especially for retail and food shops.
Some shops had to stop in-door dining, shopping, or do regular drop-offs. So, they had to think of creative ideas to avoid going bankrupt.
One small grocery shop in Colombia devised the perfect plan to avoid human contact. They decided to do it through their own dog, Eros.
The 8-year-old Chocolate Lab joined the Botero family around four years ago just when they started their business. At first, he helped by being a companion and assistant but now that the pandemic hit, he now handles the deliveries.
With Eros’ efforts, he not only helps them avoid bankruptcy, but he also helps his family be safe. According to data, dogs spreading the virus is extremely unlikely, so Eros should also be safe.
When he is out delivering goods, Eros clamps a small basket in his jaws, filled with the items from the store. What makes it all amazing is, he doesn’t even touch any of it. He just drops the order off and comes back to the store to do another one!
Of course, Eros doesn’t know the exact addresses of these customers. However, he does remember the names of those who already rewarded him with tasty treats.
With this alone, he eventually learned how to deliver to these houses on his own. Moreover, the receiving party gets thrilled when he comes by. One even told an interview that Eros doesn’t leave until he receives his treats. Such a cutie!
With technology advancing, it is now easy to pay online. So, the parents don’t have to worry about Eros carrying paper money or being robbed on the street.
Without a doubt, Eros is one of the most significant workers during these trying times. In fact, other dogs have joined in this cause as well. Stay strong, hardworking dogs!
