Promise, a young Pit Bull, was paralyzed when a car door slammed on her leg. She now uses a wheelchair to get around, and it hasn’t slowed her down in the slightest.
She surely still has plenty of love to give to people who will treat her well, and she always has the cutest puppy smile on her face.
After the pup spent a year in a shelter, a sanctuary for dogs with special needs took her in. She’s even known on Instagram as “Promise the Wonder Dog,” and her photos always bring smiles to dog lovers’ faces.
Promise was a young puppy when she arrived at the Grand Strand Humane Society, an animal shelter in Myrtle Beach. Having paralyzed back legs didn’t bother her. She discovered new ways to get around and have fun.
As a result, the shelter created an Instagram page for her early on, which quickly gained more than 500 followers. They talked about her favorite things, like running around in her wheelchair and swimming in a kiddie pool.
Despite her adorable appearance and endearing personality, many potential adopters overlooked her. But the Pit Bull remained patient and kept on waiting for the right family to appear.
After a year of loving care at the humane society, Promise has finally got a glimpse of a better life. She’ll be traveling to Washington, D.C. A sanctuary for dogs with special needs, Angels with Misplaced Wings, will adopt the charming pooch, and she’ll live with ten other dogs.
However, the trip of the Pittie to her new home got postponed due to her new mother’s illness. But she’ll be on her way soon! Meanwhile, she’ll continue to chill in the pool on hot summer days. The sanctuary will post updates on her Instagram page. Thus, you can keep up with her exciting new life by following her.
