Chase Grossman, an animal lover from Westpark, Ohio, adores dogs for as long as he could remember. He believes that canines have the power to comfort, heal and bring people together, and his journey alone could prove that.
Not many people know that Chase is a transgender man. Knowing that not everyone could easily accept people like him, he also constantly dealt with social anxiety. For example, asking a stranger if he could pet their dog, for example, is already a Herculean task for the 22-year-old.
When Chase was in college, he once said as a joke that it would be easier if people saw a visual cue that he wanted to pet their dog instead of having to interact with them. But he had no idea that his joke would come to fruition.
A recent trip to Portland, a city full of canine lovers, enticed him to make the tattoo idea a reality. He shared that one gets to meet around 20 dogs in one block. Because of this, he decided to make his idea a reality. He visited a tattoo artist to have his arm inked with ‘Can I pet your dog?’ in block letters.
Chase shared his new tattoo on a Facebook group dedicated to dogs and dog lovers called Dogspotting Society. His ingenuity immediately thousands of likes and comments, while others asked him if they could copy him or do something similar. Of course, he happily obliged.
Since he got his tattoo, Chase was able to give random dogs pats and belly rubs. Interestingly, his new ink built his confidence and helped him interact with different people. The outcome was enough proof that his idea was a success, thanks to his creativity!
But even before Chase got his tattoo, he already has a canine companion helping him mee. Lily, a 12-year-old Corgi, has always been by his side, and he could never thank her enough for the love and companionship! No wonder why this canine lover adored dogs!
